Volvo Cars has announced the upcoming launch of its all-electric EX60 mid-size SUV, positioning it as the most technologically advanced model in the company’s lineup to date. The EX60 is scheduled for a global debut on January 21, 2026, and represents a significant step forward in automotive intelligence, connectivity and safety systems.

At the heart of the EX60’s technology is Google’s Gemini AI assistant, which allows drivers to control navigation, messages, vehicle functions and other complex tasks through natural, hands-free conversations. This AI-driven feature is designed to reduce interaction with touchscreens, helping drivers stay focused on the road.

The EX60 introduces HuginCore, a new software-defined vehicle architecture named after a Norse mythological raven symbolizing memory and thought. This system integrates the SUV’s electrical architecture, core computing, zone controllers and operating software, enabling continuous over-the-air updates and real-time learning from global driving data.

To power these advanced capabilities, Volvo has equipped the EX60 with the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin platform, capable of processing over 250 trillion operations per second. Alongside this, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit and Auto Connectivity platforms deliver high responsiveness and include four years of complimentary unlimited data for customers.

Beyond its digital intelligence, the EX60 aims to set new standards in electric performance, with preliminary figures suggesting a WLTP range of up to 810 kilometres in all-wheel-drive configurations. The SUV also supports ultra-fast charging, capable of adding up to 340 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes with a 400 kW charger.

Volvo officials describe the EX60 as a vehicle designed with human-centric technology to enhance the driving experience. By combining in-house innovations with world-class partners like Google, NVIDIA and Qualcomm, the Swedish automaker aims to make the EX60 both smarter and safer for owners worldwide.
