Yamaha the Japanese two-wheeler giant announced its ambitious roadmap for India, unveiling plans to launch 10 new models by end-2026, of which two will be electric scooters.

Underlining India’s importance in its global strategy, Yamaha stated that the upcoming launches will span both internal-combustion engine motorcycles and next-generation electric scooters, signalling a dual focus on performance and electrification.

In the electric mobility segment, Yamaha is set to debut with two scooters: the premium sporty “AEROX-E” and a commuting-oriented “EC-06”. These will be introduced in select top-tier cities in India in early 2026, before broader rollout.

On the internal-combustion side, Yamaha will also expand its premium motorcycle range—models like the XSR155 and FZ-RAVE have already been highlighted—and will continue reinforcing its presence in the performance and deluxe segments.

In terms of operations, Yamaha aims to fully utilise its annual production capacity of around 15 lakh units across its Indian plants, supporting the new model introductions and product-updates pipeline of over 20 models by 2026.

The two-wheeler market in India remains vital for Yamaha’s growth, with the company projecting a domestic sales growth of around 10 % in the current fiscal. Yamaha emphasised it is not chasing mass volumes but intends to build strong presence in select premium and electric mobility niches.
