Ather Deploys Over 430 Fast Chargers Throughout Tamil Nadu

Ather Energy has achieved a major milestone by installing more than 430 Ather Grid fast-charging points across 38 cities in Tamil Nadu, marking a significant push to improve EV charging infrastructure in the region.

In tandem with its proprietary network, the company has deployed over 50 LECCS (Light Electric Combined Charging System) stations, designed for industry wide use and compatible with multiple light electric vehicle brands.

Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, emphasized that “charging has often been seen as one of the key barriers,” and noted that surpassing the 400 fast-charger threshold in Tamil Nadu underscores the company’s commitment to making electric two-wheeler ownership more accessible.

These charging points span key urban and tourism hubs including Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Chennai, Rameswaram, Coonoor, and Yelagiri and cover vital intercity routes like Coimbatore–Bangalore, Madurai–Kanyakumari, Trichy–Chennai, and Chennai–Pondicherry.

Ather also supports a broad retail and service network in the state, operating 44 Experience Centres and 42 Service Centres across 35 cities as of June 30, 2025.

Nationwide, Ather Energy now manages over 3,300 Ather Grid fast-charging points, building what is widely regarded as India’s most extensive two-wheeler EV charging network.
