Tata Power, in collaboration with Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM), has inaugurated two ultra-fast electric vehicle charging stations on National Highway 65 (NH-65) in Telangana, further strengthening India’s highway charging infrastructure. The initiative is aimed at improving charging accessibility for EV users travelling between Hyderabad and Vijayawada, one of South India’s busiest transport corridors.
The newly commissioned charging hubs are located at Vivera Junction, Narketpalle, and 7 Midway Plaza, Suryapet. The Narketpalle facility is equipped with two 120 kW DC ultra-fast chargers, while the Suryapet station features a 240 kW DC ultra-fast charger with dual dispensers. Both locations have been developed in collaboration with Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and operate under the co-branded TATA.ev MegaCharger network.
The expansion is expected to make long-distance EV travel more convenient by providing reliable, high-speed charging facilities along NH-65. The new charging stations are strategically positioned to support private and commercial EV users travelling between Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and nearby industrial and commercial hubs, helping reduce range anxiety while encouraging wider EV adoption.
With the addition of these charging stations, Tata Power has expanded its EV charging footprint in Telangana to more than 150 charging points. The company continues to strengthen its public charging network in response to the increasing demand for electric mobility and the rapid growth of EV ownership across the state.
The newly inaugurated hubs are part of the rapidly expanding TATA.ev MegaCharger network, which now includes more than 750 charging points across major highways and cities in India. Several of these charging stations are accessible through the Tata Power EZ Charge mobile application, allowing EV users to easily locate, navigate, and use charging facilities during intercity travel.
Tata Power continues to expand its nationwide EV charging ecosystem with more than 2.3 lakh home chargers, over 6,500 public, semi-public and fleet charging points, and more than 1,200 charging points for electric buses across 690 cities and towns. The latest NH-65 deployment reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to build a robust charging network and support India’s transition towards cleaner and sustainable transportation.
