Advait Energy Transitions has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) for developing a 150 MW / 300 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Gujarat. The contract was awarded by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) as part of efforts to strengthen grid stability and support renewable energy integration.

The company secured the project after emerging as the lowest bidder in a competitive tender for a total 335 MW / 670 MWh BESS capacity. Advait Energy won 150 MW capacity with a quoted tariff of around ₹2.10 lakh per MW per month, highlighting its growing presence in India’s energy storage sector.

According to project details, the battery storage system will be developed to support grid operations by enabling energy storage and supply based on demand requirements. Such projects play a critical role in balancing power supply, managing peak demand, and improving the reliability of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.

The project will also receive support under the viability gap funding (VGF) scheme, which aims to promote large-scale deployment of battery storage infrastructure in India. The company is expected to complete the project within about 18 months after signing the Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement.

As part of the project requirements, the company will also focus on domestic value addition, including the use of locally developed energy management systems and minimum local content in procurement. This supports the government’s Make in India initiative and strengthens the domestic clean-energy manufacturing ecosystem.

This development marks another important step in Advait Energy’s clean energy growth strategy as it continues expanding its footprint in battery storage and power infrastructure projects. With energy storage becoming essential for India’s renewable transition, such projects are expected to play a key role in ensuring long-term energy sustainability.
