River Mobility, the Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer, is exploring plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Narasapura, Karnataka, as part of its long-term expansion strategy. The proposed plant is expected to support the company’s growing production needs and future product launches.
The company is evaluating Narasapura mainly because it is a well-established automotive manufacturing hub with strong supplier networks and industrial infrastructure. Its proximity to major automotive players could help River Mobility strengthen its supply chain efficiency and scale operations smoothly.
Currently, River Mobility is producing nearly 10,000 electric scooters per month, which translates to about 1.2 lakh units annually. This growing production volume reflects increasing demand for its electric scooter portfolio and highlights the need for additional manufacturing capacity.
The expansion is also linked to the company’s upcoming product pipeline. River Mobility is reportedly developing new electric two-wheeler models internally codenamed RX02 and RX03, which are expected to contribute to future sales growth and strengthen its position in India’s competitive EV market.
Alongside its manufacturing plans, the company is also working toward its next funding round and is in discussions with various state governments regarding the new facility. However, the company has clarified that no final decision has been made yet and details will be announced once plans are confirmed.
With India’s electric vehicle sector expanding rapidly, River Mobility’s proposed new plant could become an important step in its scale-up journey. The move reflects the company’s focus on increasing production capacity, expanding its product lineup, and strengthening its role in the country’s fast-growing EV ecosystem.
