Ampere, the electric two-wheeler brand of Greaves Electric Mobility, has crossed the milestone of 4 lakh electric scooters manufactured and sold in India. The achievement marks a significant step in the company’s growth journey and reflects the increasing demand for affordable electric mobility solutions across the country. The figure includes both high-speed and low-speed electric scooters, with the latter not being captured under the VAHAN registration database.
The company also reported a 51% year-on-year increase in sales during FY2025-26, while its market share improved from 3.6% in FY2024-25 to 4.4% in FY2025-26. The steady growth highlights Ampere’s expanding presence in India’s electric two-wheeler market as more consumers shift towards cleaner and cost-effective transportation options.
Ampere attributes its growth to a customer-focused product portfolio developed for Indian road conditions and daily commuting requirements. The company offers electric scooters that prioritize affordability, practicality, safety, and low running costs, making them a suitable choice for both urban and semi-urban customers seeking dependable electric mobility.
A key strength of Ampere’s product lineup is its 100% Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery platform, which is designed to deliver enhanced safety, improved thermal stability, and longer battery life. According to the company, the battery technology can support a lifecycle of up to 2,00,000 kilometres, helping reduce maintenance requirements and lowering the overall cost of ownership for customers.
The company said the 4 lakh milestone reflects the growing trust of Indian consumers in the Ampere brand and reinforces its commitment to delivering reliable, accessible, and value-driven electric mobility solutions. As EV adoption continues to gain momentum, Ampere aims to meet evolving customer expectations through continuous product innovation and quality improvements.
Looking ahead, Ampere plans to strengthen its footprint by expanding its dealer network, enhancing customer experience, and introducing more advanced electric mobility solutions. With India’s electric vehicle ecosystem witnessing rapid growth, the company remains focused on supporting the country’s transition towards cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable transportation.
