Drivn and BillionE Mobility have announced a strategic partnership to deploy 200 electric trucks across India, marking a significant step toward accelerating the country’s transition to sustainable freight transportation. The collaboration is designed to support large-scale electric truck adoption by combining vehicle leasing, charging infrastructure, and operational expertise, helping logistics operators reduce emissions while improving fleet efficiency.
The first phase of the initiative will see 22 electric trucks deployed for a leading cement industry customer under a long-term agreement. The project will establish an electrified freight corridor backed by dedicated charging infrastructure and end-to-end operational support, ensuring reliable vehicle performance for commercial logistics operations. The partners aim to demonstrate that electric trucks are ready for demanding freight applications across India.
According to Drivn, large-scale electrification of freight transport depends on building a strong ecosystem rather than simply replacing diesel vehicles. The company believes reliable charging infrastructure, seamless coordination between stakeholders, and efficient fleet management are essential for maintaining high vehicle uptime and delivering dependable logistics services. The partnership is expected to create a scalable model for commercial EV freight deployment.
BillionE Mobility said the collaboration brings together financing, technology, charging infrastructure, and operational capabilities to remove key barriers preventing wider adoption of electric trucks. By integrating these services under a single ecosystem, the companies aim to help businesses transition toward cleaner, more cost-effective freight transportation while supporting India’s decarbonization goals.
The companies estimate that the deployment of 200 electric trucks could reduce more than 4,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually compared with conventional diesel-powered commercial vehicles. Beyond environmental benefits, the initiative is also expected to improve operational efficiency and lower long-term running costs for fleet operators adopting electric mobility solutions.
Following the initial rollout, Drivn and BillionE Mobility plan to expand the partnership through additional deployment phases, supporting more long-haul freight corridors across the country. As demand for zero-emission commercial transport continues to grow, the companies intend to scale electric truck operations and strengthen India’s sustainable logistics ecosystem with wider fleet electrification in the coming years.
