Power management firm Eaton and EV charging provider ChargePoint introduced their latest ultrafast DC vehicle-to-everything (V2X) charging system, dubbed the ChargePoint Express Grid, at the RE+ trade show in Las Vegas. The modular system is capable of delivering up to 600 kW for passenger electric vehicles and megawatt-level charging for heavy-duty trucks.
The system significantly lowers costs and installation requirements, offering a 30% reduction in both capital expenses and ongoing operational costs, and occupying 30% less space than comparable fast-charging solutions.
Built around Eaton’s “Everything as a Grid” strategy, the architecture seamlessly integrates on-site renewables, energy storage, and vehicle batteries. Its V2X capabilities are designed to help fleets reduce fueling costs and support grid balancing—especially when deployed in partnership with utilities.
Eaton’s vice president of energy transition, Paul Ryan, underscored the system’s potential: “Accelerating electrification at scale hinges on industry-changing technology that can be deployed faster while achieving reliability and efficiency at a much lower cost.”
ChargePoint CEO Rick Wilmer added, “The new Express Grid architecture takes DC fast charging to levels of performance and cost not previously imagined.”
The system will debut at the RE+ show, with solutions offered as pre-engineered, skid-mounted packages to streamline installation. Orders will open in early 2026 for North American and European customers, with deliveries expected in the second half of 2026.
