ElectriGo, a full-stack electric bus leasing platform, has officially launched its electric bus leasing solution in India, focusing on private bus operators who want to adopt zero-emission vehicles without high upfront costs. The service is aimed at making electric buses more financially viable and easier to operate through leasing, maintenance and integrated support.
As part of this launch, ElectriGo has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Green Energy Mobility Solutions (GEMS) to deploy 50 electric buses across key transport routes in the country. The agreement was formalised on August 1, 2025, in Chennai with both companies signaling a shared goal of accelerating electric bus adoption in public and contract transport segments.
Under the partnership, ElectriGo has already delivered the first tranche of 10 electric buses to GEMS in Hyderabad on December 16, 2025. These buses will be operated with full maintenance and operational support from ElectriGo, which is expected to ensure high uptime and efficient fleet performance for operators.
ElectriGo’s leasing model is designed as a full-stack solution, combining vehicle financing with charging infrastructure, proactive maintenance, real-time telematics and battery lifecycle support. This approach helps reduce financial and operational barriers for private operators transitioning to electric buses, making adoption smoother and more predictable.
The company traces its roots to Turno, India’s largest electric small commercial vehicle (eSCV) platform launched in 2021 by former Zoomcar executives Hemanth Aluru and Sudhindra Reddy. ElectriGo was launched in 2024 with a focus on medium and heavy electric commercial vehicles, including buses, and plans to expand its presence across multiple states.
In support of the broader electric mobility ecosystem, GEMS also announced the launch of Ziel Mobility, a green aggregator ecosystem focused on electric passenger buses and electric trucks. This initiative underlines GEMS’ strategy to scale EV operations and deployment, reflecting a strong commitment to cleaner and cost-efficient public transportation.
