Fox ESS has introduced its new POWER BEAST commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage system in the Australian market, aiming to simplify battery storage deployment for businesses. The solution combines the company’s H3 Plus Hybrid Inverter with the CQ7 High Voltage Storage Battery, delivering a modular platform designed to reduce installation complexity while supporting a wide range of energy storage applications.
The POWER BEAST system has been engineered to address common installation challenges associated with traditional commercial battery storage systems, including extensive cabling, multiple connection points, and lengthy on-site assembly. Fox ESS says its dual-stack architecture and plug-and-play design help lower installation time, reduce wiring requirements, and optimize space utilization for commercial projects.
At the core of the solution is the H3 Plus Hybrid Inverter, available in power outputs ranging from 50 kW to 125 kW. The inverter supports up to three independent battery inputs and, when paired with CQ7 battery modules, can provide storage capacities of up to 292 kWh per inverter. Multiple POWER BEAST units can also be combined to support utility-scale commercial installations for both grid-connected and off-grid applications.
Fox ESS has also introduced the optional CQ7 Dual Tower Base, which accommodates two battery stacks on a shared base while keeping the system height below 1.3 metres. The pre-configured power and communication connections are designed to simplify installation, reduce wiring errors, and improve deployment efficiency for EPC contractors, installers, and project developers.
For projects eligible under New South Wales’ Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) BESS4 requirements, the company noted that a 100 kW H3 Plus inverter combined with two CQ7 battery stacks delivers approximately 195 kWh of storage capacity. This configuration is intended to help customers maximize available incentives while meeting commercial energy storage requirements.
According to Fox ESS, the POWER BEAST platform integrates solar PV generation, battery storage, emergency power supply (EPS), generators, and EV charging into a single scalable solution. By offering a modular design with faster installation and flexible expansion capabilities, the company aims to support Australia’s growing demand for reliable and efficient commercial energy storage systems.
