Honda Cars India has introduced the updated Honda City sedan along with the debut of its all-new ZR-V e:HEV hybrid SUV in the Indian market. The latest move highlights Honda’s aggressive strategy to strengthen its premium vehicle portfolio and expand its hybrid lineup in the country. The company is aiming to attract buyers looking for advanced technology, premium comfort and fuel-efficient mobility solutions.
The refreshed Honda City comes with a sharper exterior design, upgraded cabin features and improved connectivity options. Honda has retained the sedan’s premium appeal while adding modern styling elements and enhanced comfort features for Indian customers. The updated model continues to target the mid-size sedan segment, where the City has maintained a strong presence for years.
Alongside the new City, Honda also unveiled the ZR-V e:HEV, a premium hybrid SUV positioned above the Elevate in the brand’s India lineup. The SUV arrives as a completely built unit (CBU) and is expected to compete with premium SUVs including the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq and Nissan X-Trail. Honda has confirmed that pre-bookings for the ZR-V are now open, while customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in July 2026.
The Honda ZR-V features a sporty and premium design with sleek LED headlamps, a bold front grille, stylish alloy wheels and connected LED tail lamps. Inside the cabin, the SUV offers a modern dashboard layout, large touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver display, panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone connectivity and premium Bose audio system. Honda has focused heavily on comfort and advanced technology to position the SUV in the premium hybrid segment.
Powering the ZR-V is Honda’s 2.0-litre e:HEV hybrid powertrain paired with an e-CVT transmission. The hybrid setup combines petrol engine performance with electric motor efficiency to deliver strong acceleration and improved fuel economy. Honda claims the SUV offers an efficient and refined driving experience while supporting cleaner mobility solutions for future-focused customers.
With the launch of the updated City and the debut of the ZR-V hybrid SUV, Honda is preparing for a stronger push in India’s passenger vehicle market. The company has also announced plans to introduce more new vehicles, including hybrids and EVs, as part of its long-term expansion strategy.
