Kinetic Green and Musashi India have joined forces to strengthen India’s electric mobility ecosystem through a new partnership focused on next-generation electric two-wheelers. The collaboration aims to introduce advanced integrated powertrain systems for Kinetic Green’s upcoming electric scooters and motorcycles.
As part of the agreement, Musashi India will supply a side-mounted e-Axle system that combines the motor, gearbox, and controller into a compact single-unit setup. The integrated technology is designed to improve vehicle performance, energy efficiency, and overall riding experience for future electric two-wheelers in India.
The companies revealed that pilot production is expected to begin by December 2026, while large-scale manufacturing will take place at Musashi Delta e-Axle India’s Bengaluru facility. This move is expected to support faster localization and strengthen EV component manufacturing in the country.
The new powertrain solution will feature a 4.7kW Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) motor integrated with an advanced gearbox system. According to the companies, the side-mounted e-Axle configuration offers better durability, reduced maintenance, improved range, and more storage space compared to traditional hub-mounted and center-mounted drive systems.
Naoya Nishimura, CEO of Musashi India & Africa Region, described the partnership as an important step toward accelerating India’s transition to electric mobility. He highlighted that Musashi’s integrated powertrain technology focuses on innovation, reliability, and efficiency while supporting the growing demand for smarter EV solutions.
Dr. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO of Kinetic Green, stated that the collaboration aligns with the company’s vision of delivering intelligent and sustainable mobility solutions to Indian consumers. Both companies are also exploring a long-term strategic partnership to develop future electric mobility technologies for upcoming vehicle platforms.
