Tata Motors, India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, has announced a major step to strengthen the country’s EV infrastructure. The company already provides access to 25,000 public charging stations across 150 cities for its electric small commercial vehicles (e-SCVs). Now, it plans to add another 25,000 chargers within the next year to support the growing adoption of electric cargo vehicles.

To drive this expansion, Tata Motors has signed MoUs with 13 charging point operators (CPOs), including Charge Zone, Zeon Electric, Kazam, Volttic, and Ampvolts. These collaborations are expected to boost the confidence of fleet operators and logistics companies as they shift towards clean mobility solutions.

The upcoming charging stations will be connected to Fleet Edge, Tata Motors’ connected vehicle platform. With this integration, fleet operators will be able to check charger availability in real time, access navigation assistance, plan efficient routes, and minimize downtime — leading to better operational efficiency.

According to Pinaki Haldar, Vice President & Business Head – SCVPU, Tata Motors, more than 10,000 Ace EVs are already on Indian roads and have together clocked over 60 million kilometres. He added that the growing popularity of the Ace Pro EV reflects customer trust, and the expanded charging network will further improve range confidence, profitability, and the shift towards zero-emission logistics.

The company’s e-SCV lineup includes the Ace Pro EV, Ace EV, and Ace EV 1000, catering to last-mile delivery, FMCG distribution, and e-commerce in both urban and semi-urban areas. Tata Motors also supports its EV customers through 200+ dedicated EV service centres across India.

With this large-scale charging network expansion, Tata Motors aims to reduce range anxiety for fleet operators and strengthen India’s clean mobility ecosystem. The initiative marks another step in the country’s transition towards sustainable and efficient transport solutions.
