VinFast concluded 2025 on a strong note after producing 200,000 electric vehicles at its Hai Phong manufacturing complex in Vietnam, marking a significant scale-up for the company as a global EV player. The milestone unit, which rolled off the line on December 31, was the Limo Green, a fully electric seven-seat multi-purpose vehicle that has rapidly gained popularity in VinFast’s home market.
The production achievement underscores VinFast’s growing manufacturing capabilities, with the Hai Phong facility boasting advanced automation and high output levels even in the year-end period. Close to 26,000 vehicles were manufactured in December alone, and the plant achieved peaks of over 1,000 units per day, positioning it among high-volume EV production sites worldwide.
VinFast also used this momentum to broaden its global presence, particularly in India’s burgeoning electric car market. According to registration data from India’s VAHAN system, the brand recorded 321 new EV registrations in December 2025, placing it fourth in the country’s EV rankings ahead of some established international marques. This is notable given the brand’s recent launch and limited model lineup in India.
The Vietnamese automaker officially entered the Indian EV landscape in 2025, launching the VF 6 and VF 7 SUVs with local assembly at its plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Since beginning customer deliveries in September, VinFast has rapidly expanded its retail network and built out service and support infrastructure across the country.
In addition to production and sales achievements, VinFast has also focused on strengthening customer trust and local market appeal. Initiatives like expanding fast-charging partnerships and offering extended warranties and free maintenance packages are part of the company’s strategy to differentiate itself and support long-term EV adoption in India.
Looking ahead to 2026, VinFast plans to deepen its manufacturing footprint with facilities in Ha Tinh (Vietnam), Indonesia, and India, further accelerating its global EV strategy. With rising production capacity and early market traction in competitive regions such as India, the company appears poised to build on its 2025 milestones and further its presence in the rapidly evolving electric mobility landscape.
