Volvo Trucks has introduced its new 14-tonne FL Electric, expanding its medium-duty electric truck lineup for modern and efficient city logistics. The company says the model is designed specifically for cleaner urban transportation, offering operators a compact and agile electric truck ideal for dense city routes.

The new FL Electric variant maintains the brand’s focus on zero tailpipe emissions, delivering silent and clean operations suitable for crowded urban areas. With its smaller footprint and smooth driveline, the truck is built to handle narrow city streets and challenging delivery environments with ease.

Volvo has equipped this 14-tonne model with an upgraded battery setup, featuring 145 kWh of usable energy. The electric motor produces up to 180 kW of power, while the truck offers a practical driving range of around 200 km depending on load and city conditions. This makes it suitable for daily distribution, municipal duties, and last-mile operations.

The truck is offered with multiple wheelbase options ranging from 3,800 mm to 6,500 mm, giving customers flexibility to configure the vehicle as per their regional or operational needs. A narrow width of 2.4 metres further helps operators navigate tight lanes, improving drivability in congested urban zones.

Volvo positions the new FL Electric as a strong “inner-city workhorse,” supporting roles such as goods distribution, waste collection, and service operations. For customers requiring higher payloads or extended range, Volvo also continues to offer heavier FL and FE Electric variants within the same lineup.

Production of the 14-tonne FL Electric is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026. With this launch, Volvo Trucks reinforces its strategy of providing a diverse electric portfolio suitable for various urban and regional logistics applications.
