Rajesh Gupta leads RecycleKaro, a renowned e-waste management and Lithium-ion battery recycling company focusing on extracting critical elements from Lithium-ion batteries, including cobalt, lithium, manganese and nickel, making the company a leading player in India in this specialized field. He is a visionary leader passionate about sustainability and a triple-bottom-line approach, prioritizing People, Planet, and Profits. Under his able guidance, RecycleKaro has gained recognition for its Zero Waste Discharge plant, Asian Green Business Award and Recycling business of the year.

His journey began in 2010 when he left his family business to pursue his dream of building a sustainable organization. With expertise in industrial electronics and a commitment to sustainable practices. He founded the Evergreen Gulf Recycling Hub in January 2017, focusing on recycling Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). Since January 2010, he has been serving as the Director of RecycleKaro (India), leading the organization to become India’s largest producer of sustainable battery raw materials through recycling, repurposing and low-carbon refining.

Rajesh Gupta’s passion for recycling and sustainable practices led him to spend the last 12 years in R&D building techniques for, metal, and electronic waste. He is focussed on building end-to-end battery recycling solutions and recirculating them into the battery ecosystem.

His trash-to-riches initiative has helped several large organizations effectively eliminate waste from the source. Additionally, he assists companies internationally in setting up similar homegrown and indigenous practices to treat waste using minimal energy.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Rajesh enjoys trekking in the Sahyadris, riding bikes. His commitment to sustainability goes beyond business, as he aims to empower people and create more jobs for sustainable execution.
