The car-maker Nissan has officially unveiled its new global SUV, Nissan Kait, on December 3, 2025 presenting it as a vehicle that blends stylish design with roomy interiors and a strong emphasis on safety. The announcement marks the next step in Nissan’s global SUV expansion strategy, with Kait joining siblings like Nissan Kicks and Nissan Magnite in the brand’s global lineup.
Under the hood, Kait remains faithful to familiar roots. It carries forward the same 1.6-litre petrol engine with CVT gearbox that powered the earlier generation — a setup chosen for its reliability and suitability to everyday driving. Alongside this, Nissan promises a balanced mix of performance and practicality, aiming to appeal to customers who prioritise comfort and low maintenance.
On the design front, Kait gets a fresh makeover. Its exterior flaunts sharper split LED headlamps, a bolder grille, and a more upright stance compared to its predecessor — giving it a contemporary, confident SUV look. Inside, the SUV offers generous space and utility, highlighted by a 432-litre boot capacity — a boost that underlines Nissan’s focus on practicality for families and long-distance travellers.
Trim-wise, Kait will be available in four variants globally: Active, Sense Plus, Advance Plus and Exclusive. Depending on the variant, buyers can expect features such as a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, and even advanced driver aids in higher trims — making it well-equipped for modern driving demands.
Manufacturing of Kait has commenced at Nissan’s “Resende Industrial Complex” in Brazil, and the company plans to export it to more than 20 international markets starting 2026. For now, there is no official confirmation about a launch in India — but given Nissan’s recent product plans for the country, manufacturers and buyers alike will be watching closely.
Overall, the launch of Nissan Kait signals the company’s intent to refresh and strengthen its global SUV portfolio. With its mix of modern design, practical space, and competitive features — all built around a reliable powertrain — Kait seems tailored for buyers who want a balanced SUV rather than just a premium badge. Its global success could shape expectations for what Nissan might bring to emerging markets such as India in the near future.
