The Toronto Parking Authority (TPA), in partnership with Toronto Hydro Corporation, has officially energised the city’s 500th public electric-vehicle charging station at the Green P Carpark 504 on Willingdon Blvd., marking a significant milestone in Toronto’s drive towards sustainable mobility.
This milestone underlines the city’s expansion of its public EV network, with the TPA now overseeing the operation and management of a growing number of publicly accessible chargers, while Toronto Hydro continues to play a major role in supplying the requisite power and infrastructure for electrification projects.
Since installing its first EV charger in 2020, Toronto Hydro has ramped up infrastructure to support the increasing demand for electric mobility. In 2025 alone, the utility has projected to connect more than 4,000 EV charging stations in homes and buildings across the city, reinforcing the ambition of a robust clean mobility ecosystem.
Scott Collier, President of the Toronto Parking Authority, emphasised that the mission is “to create a seamless mobility experience that delivers on Choice, Ease, and Speed for our customers.” He added that this milestone reflects the TPA’s commitment to the city’s TransformTO Net Zero Strategy and the broader aim of building a more sustainable urban transportation system.
