Volvo Cars has expanded its all electric vehicle lineup with the introduction of the EX60 Cross Country, a rugged variant of its newly launched EX60 electric SUV designed for drivers who want capability without compromising on modern EV technology. The Cross Country model was unveiled alongside the standard EX60, showcasing Volvo’s effort to carry its iconic “go anywhere” spirit into the electric era.

The EX60 Cross Country stays true to Volvo’s Scandinavian design heritage while adding visual and functional upgrades aimed at enhancing confidence on rougher roads. The SUV debuts an exclusive exterior colour dubbed Frost Green, unique Cross Country-specific wheels, distinct branding on bumpers and the D-pillar, and wider, rugged wheel arches. Brushed stainless-steel skid plates on both the front and rear further emphasise its adventurous character.

Higher ground clearance is a key part of the Cross Country package. Compared to the standard EX60, this variant sits 20 millimetres higher, giving the SUV improved visibility and control on uneven surfaces. Volvo has also equipped the vehicle with air suspension, which allows drivers to raise the SUV by an additional 20 millimetres when needed, while lowering it at speed to boost efficiency and range.

On the performance front, the EX60 Cross Country comes exclusively with all-wheel drive (AWD) powertrains that build on the EX60’s strong electric foundation. Early indications from Volvo suggest multiple AWD variants will be available, with impressive range figures and electric performance, making the model suitable for longer journeys and mixed road conditions.

Volvo says the EX60 Cross Country retains the core strengths of the EX60 family — including class-leading electric range, fast-charging ability, and advanced safety and infotainment systems — while adding the capability and styling that appeal to customers with a desire for exploration. The SUV’s technology suite is expected to include state-of-the-art driver assistance and connectivity features synonymous with Volvo’s latest architecture.

Pre-orders for the EX60 Cross Country have already opened in select European markets, with Volvo planning a broader rollout across other regions throughout 2026. The company emphasises that variant specifications and range figures may vary by market and that real-world performance will depend on driving conditions and usage.
