In a significant step to address social issues and promote sustainable mobility, Suzuki R&D Center India Private Limited (SRDI), a branch of Suzuki Motor Corporation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Automobile Centre of Excellence (iACE). The collaboration, known as “Project VmeM (Versatile micro e-Mobility),” leverages Suzuki’s innovative platform idea to develop flexible and environmentally friendly micro electric transportation solutions.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by iACE Chairman and Gujarat Industries Commissioner Sandip J. Sagale and SRDI Executive Director Mayur Shah in a ceremony that was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Shizuoka Governor Yasutomo Suzuki, Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibhaben Rakeshkumar Jain, Hamamatsu Mayor Yusuke Nakano, and Suzuki Motor Corporation President Toshihiro Suzuki.

iACE, situated in Gujarat, is renowned for fostering learning, innovation, and skill development in business executives and students alike. The alliance aims to integrate Suzuki’s expertise in car production technology with its experience with innovative startup technologies to explore new usage tactics and create sustainable business models.

Suzuki plans to employ its Versatile micro e-Mobility Platform in Project VmeM to address societal concerns in India, promote the development of local communities, and ensure a sustainable future. This initiative aligns with Suzuki’s vision to become a “lifestyle infrastructure company,” demonstrating the company’s commitment to innovation and social responsibility.

In order to advance solutions for pressing global concerns including community development, sustainability, and urban transportation, the alliance highlights how important cross-sector cooperation is becoming.
